The greenback strengthened to a 3-day high against the yen in Asian deals Friday as a rally in Asian stocks prompted investors to buy higher-yielding assets with money borrowed from Japan.
But the dollar traded lower against the currencies of Europe, UK and Switzerland on higher oil prices.
The dollar which closed yesterday's trading at 1.2862 against the euro slipped to 1.2944 in early Asian deals on Friday. The near term support level for the dollar is seen at 1.299.
During early Asian trading on Friday, the dollar also edged lower against the Swiss franc. Against the pound, the dollar dropped to 1.4397 during early Asian deals on Friday.
