MW: U.S. stocks travel higher as Obama pushes economic stimulus
U.S. stocks erased early Friday losses to churn modestly higher as President Obama pressed for passage of an economic stimulus plan. The Dow Jones Industrial Averagegained 28.36 points to 7,961.12. The S&P 500 added 2.71 points to 837.9, and the Nasdaq Composite climbed 8.54 points to 1,550.25.
