BN: Gold prices rise, break record again

Local gold prices have soared continuously, breaking another record on Wednesday.

The buying price of gold bullion rose to 15,800 baht while its selling price stood at 15,900 baht.

As for 15.2 grammes of gold ornaments, its buying price rocketed to 15,569.32 and its selling price was 16,300 baht.

Since morning, many people stood in long queues in front of local gold shops, waiting to sell their gold ornaments and bullions for lucrative profits.

Gold Traders' Association secretary-general Pittaya Jearavisitkul believed gold shops would not have problems with their financial resources despite the lively trading atmosphere.

However, he said gold shops will not trade gold bullions this weekend due to concerns over the unstable global gold prices.
