MW: Gold little changed, trading above $980 an ounce
Gold futures were little changed early Thursday, trading above $980 an ounce as investors adjusted their positions after the metal ended at a seven-month high in the previous session. Gold for February delivery was last up $2.40, or 0.3%, at $980.10 an ounce in North American electronic trading. It ended at $977.70 Wednesday, the highest closing level for a front-month contract since July 15.
