MW; U.S. stocks open higher after dropping to near 12-year lows
U.S. stocks on Tuesday opened modestly higher as bargain-hunters stepped in after the prior day's drop to near 12-year lows. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 59.98 points to 7,174.76. The S&P 500 Index ) added 7.9 points to 751.23, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 18.78 points to 1,406.5.
