MW: Oil hits one-month high as gasoline supplies fall
Crude-oil futures rose Thursday to one-month highs above $43 a barrel, pacing gains in European stock markets as data showed U.S. gasoline demand rose. Crude for April delivery gained 69 cents, or 1.6%, to $43.19 a barrel in early North American electronic trading. Front-month contracts haven't ended above $43 since Jan. 26. U.S. gasoline consumption during the past four weeks rose 1.7% from a year ago, the Energy Information Administration reported Wednesday. Gasoline inventories fell by 3.4 million barrels, more than analysts surveyed by Platts had expected.
