RTRS: Dollar edges up vs euro after ADP payrolls data
NEW YORK, March 4 (Reuters) - The dollar edged higher against the euro on Wednesday after data showed U.S. private sector payrolls fell by 697,000 last month, suggesting continued deterioration in the U.S. labor market.
The euro dipped to $1.2534 after the report from about $1.2550. It was down 0.2 percent on the day but well above a three-month low of $1.2459 hit earlier. The dollar was steady around 99.30 yen , up 1 percent on the day.
The data from ADP Employer Services bodes ill for Friday's more comprehensive government payrolls report, which economists expect will show some 648,000 public and private sector jobs lost in February.
