MW: Three Japanese regional banks to seek government aid: Nikkei
Three Japanese regional banks will apply for government aid as early as next week, according to a Japanese media report. Financial institutions seeking the funding are Sapporo Hokuyo Holdings Inc.
Minami-Nippon Bank and Fukuho Bank, the Nikkei newspaper reported in its Friday morning edition, without citing its source. No details were provided on the size of the aid packages sought. The banks will seek help from the Financial Services Agency, which will evaluate recovery proposals put forward by the bank as well how likely they are to repay the loans.
