The price of Saigon Jewelry Holding Company’s (SJC) gold plates Thursday increased by VND200,000 (US$11.50) a tael from Wednesday to VND19.56 million ($1,124) a tael.
The price of a tael of SJC gold at many gold trading centers was VND19.6-19.7 million ($1,126-1,132).
The world gold price increased by $17 per ounce from Wednesday to $932.45 Thursday.
Compared with the world price, the domestic price was about VND100,000 ($5.70) a tael lower.
According to the Vietnam Export-Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank, the global gold market fluctuated very strongly on Wednesday night, surprising investors.
