MW: Tokyo stocks end lower on late selling in financials
Japanese shares gave up early gains to end lower Friday on late selling in financials, such as Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group as investors locked in profits after a strong recent rally. The Nikkei 225 Average closed 0.1% lower at 8,626.97 after rising as high as 8,843.18 earlier in the day. The broader Topix fell 0.3% to 824.53, for its first decline in 10 sessions.
