AP: Dollar briefly rises above 100 yen line first time in 6 months
 
The U.S. dollar briefly rose above the 100 yen line for the first time in nearly six months Friday morning in Tokyo after G20 meeting brought hope for world economy.

The U.S. currency topped the line shortly after 9 a.m.. Last time it traded in 100 yen line was in October, 2008.

The dollar failed to maintain strength and at noon, the dollar was traded at 99.75-80 yen versus 99.47-57 yen in New York and 99.12-14 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Thursday.

The euro traded at 1.3445-3450 dollars and 134.12-17 yen against 1.3458-3468 dollars and 133.95-134.05 yen in New York and 1.3253-3254 dollars and 131.37-41 yen in Tokyo late Thursday.
