Energy stocks shrugged off a big increase in monthly U.S. unemployment by 663,000 non-farm payroll jobs and rose with the broad market on Friday. The Amex Oil Index rose 0.3%. The Amex Natural Gas Index rose 1.4% to 375. Devon rose 1.5% to $49.14 after FBR upgraded the independent oil and natural gas producer to outperform from market perform.
