MW: U.S. stocks twist lower; downbeat data digested
U.S. stocks turned lower on Friday, after early dips in both positive and negative territory, as investors digested data showing a contraction in nonmanufacturing sectors in March and the March jobs report, which paints a dreary picture of the labor market, yet was not as bad bas feared. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was lately off 55.19 points at 7,922.89. The S&P 500 Index declined 4.64 points to 829.74, while the Nasdaq Composite was off 7.58 points to 1,595.05.
