Crude oil fell in New York, giving up gains made earlier, as U.S. equity futures dropped.
Oil for May delivery fell as much as much as 55 cents, or 1.1 percent, to $51.96 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract traded at $52.01 at 12:57 p.m. London time.
