The U.S. dollar remained mixed against other major currencies after data showed that initial jobless claims dipped, but continuing claims hit a new record high. The dollar index , which tracks the greenback against a trade-weighted basket of six major currencies, stood at 85.15 compared with 85.108 before the data. The dollar rose 0.7% to 100.42 Japanese yen, while the euro gained 0.1% against the greenback.
