RTRS: Euro wipes out losses vs dollar as stocks rise
The euro erased earlier losses against the dollar and rose against the yen on Monday as U.S. stocks rose at the opening bell, boosting risk appetite.
Trading was thin, though, with markets in Britain and Japan closed. Euro gains were also capped by remarks from European Central Bank governing council member Axel Weber, who said German growth will not resume until the second half of 2010.
The euro was last trading at $1.3270 , little changed from late Friday, as stocks opened higher. European stocks also gained on Monday. Earlier, the euro fell to $1.3212, according to Reuters data. It rose 0.3 percent to 131.90 yen
