AP: Gold futures declines on weak global cues

Gold prices fell in futures trading today by losing 0.34 per cent on fresh selling by speculators at existing higher levels influenced by weakening global trend.

At 1400 hours, the gold for far-month August fell by 0.34 per cent to Rs 14,855 per ten gram on the Multi Commodity Exchange, in trading of 492 lots.
The metal for delivery in June traded lower by 0.29 per cent to Rs 14,854 per ten gram with trading volume of 7,566 lots.
The fresh fall in gold mostly attributed to weakening trend in Asia.
They said reduced offtake in the spot market at existing higher levels also put pressure on the prices.
Meanwhile, gold prices traded lower at 925.00 US dollars an ounce against previous level of 926.00 dollars
