MW: U.S. natural gas inventories rise 95 bcf last week
U.S. natural gas inventories rose 95 billion cubic feet in the week ended May 8, the Energy Information Administration reported Thursday. Analysts at Platts had expected a buildup between 97 billion cubic feet and 102 billion cubic feet. After the data, natural gas for June delivery fell 14.7 cents, or 3.4%, to $4.186 per million British thermal units. At 2,013 billion cubic feet, stocks were 497 billion cubic feet higher than last year at this time and 374 billion cubic feet above the five-year average, the EIA reported.
