The Nickel futures which have headed the base metal`s southward journey, recorded more than 1% decline in prices. Actively trading, Nickel May contract slipped by 1.38% at Rs 613.50 per kg (11.53 a.m.,Friday). It opened at Rs 622 as against its earlier close of Rs 622.10. Nickel June contract declined by 1.33% at Rs 617.80 as compared to its earlier close of Rs 626.10.
Copper June contract moved down 0.47% to Rs 221.90 per kg after opening at Rs 222.05. It hovered in the range of Rs 223.25 - 220.70 per kg. Similarly, Copper August contract decreased 0.56% to Rs 223.70. It opened at Rs 224.10 as compared to its previous closing of Rs 224.95 and touched the lowest level for the day at Rs 222.65 per kg.
Following the trend, Lead May contract also traded lower by 0.28% at Rs 71.55 after opening at Rs 72.20 per kg.
