PTI; Gold rises
 
NEW DELHI: Extending its gains for the third straight day, gold on Friday rose by Rs 60 per 10 gram in the bullion market here on constant buying by stockists and jewellery fabricators influenced by firming global trend.

Buying activity in gold picked up in the domestic market as metal prices surged to 956 dollar an ounce in the US last night, marketmen said. They said sustained buying by stockists and jewellery fabricators to meet the current marriage season demand als o pushed up gold prices.

Standard gold and ornaments, which had gained Rs 250 in the last two trading session, added another Rs 60 each to Rs 14,690 and Rs 14,540 per 10 gram, respectively.

Sovereign, held steady at Rs 12,400 per piece of eight gram. On the other hand, silver ready declined by Rs 50 to Rs 22,300 per kg but silver weekly-based delivery gained Rs 10 at Rs 22,450 per kg. Silver coins continued to be asked around previous lev el at Rs 29,000 for buying and Rs 29,100 for selling of 100 pieces.
