RTRS: Euro extends gains vs dollar after U.S. data
The euro extended gains against the dollar on Thursday after better-than-expected data on U.S. jobless claims and durable goods, which boosted risk appetite and diminished safe-haven demand for the dollar.
The euro rose to $1.3893 from about $1.3869. The yen also extended losses, pushing the dollar up 1.7 percent at 96.93 from around 97.03 before the data.
