(RTTNews) - The US dollar showed weakness against its major opponents before commencing the New York session on Tuesday. Paring its early European session's gains, the greenback drifted lower to 97.92 against the Japanese yen, 1.6204 against the pound, 1.0845 against the Swiss franc and 1.3983 against the euro around 8:00 am ET.
From the U.S, the Commerce Department is set to release its wholesale inventories data for April at 10:00 am ET. Economists expect inventories to decline 1.1 percent in the month.
