MW: U.S. natural gas inventories rise 114 bcf: EIA
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. natural gas inventories rose 114 billion cubic feet in the week ended June 12, the Energy Information Administration reported Thursday. Analysts surveyed by energy information provider Platts had expected an increase between 107 to 112 billion cubic feet. After data, July natural gas futures extended losses, down 2.4% to $4.151 per million British thermal units. It was down less than 2% before the data. At 2,557 billion cubic feet, stocks were 622 billion cubic feet higher than last year at this time and 472 billion cubic feet above the five-year average.
