NEW DELHI: Silver futures extended gains for the second straight day by adding Rs 77 to Rs 27,314 per kg on Wednesday on sustained buying in tandem with a firming global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for July month contract rose by Rs 77 or 0.28 per cent to Rs 27,314 per kg with an open interest of 1,111 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in May contract also traded higher by Rs 72 or 0.27 per cent to Rs 27,109 per kg in a turnover of 12,718 lots.
Marketmen said sustained buying in tandem with a firming global trend helped silver prices move up.
Meanwhile, silver gained 33 cent at USD 17.44 an ounce in New York last evening. - PTI
