MW: Crude oil, gold stay up as wholesale prices drop

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Crude oil and gold futures stayed higher on Wednesday, after the government reported producer prices fell 0.6% in February, more than expected. Crude oil for April delivery was up 84 cents, or 1%, at $82.54 a barrel in electronic trade. Gold for the same month rose $1.90, or 0.2%, at $1,124.50 an ounce.
