LONDON (MarketWatch) -- European shares edged higher on Wednesday, with tour operator Tui Travel (UK:TT. 309.20, +5.00, +1.64%) up 3.1% after pointing to stronger demand and solar firm Q-Cells (DE:QCE 7.60, +0.46, +6.44%) up after saying that it expects sales to improve in 2010. The U.K. FTSE 100 index rose 0.3% to 5,690.81, the German DAX index climbed 0.2% to 6,029.26 and the French CAC-40 index rose 0.1% to 3,957.02.
