NEW DELHI: Gold futures prices declined by Rs 23 to Rs 16,536 per ten gram on Monday as traders reduced their positions on the back of weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, gold for June contract declined by Rs 23, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 16,536 per ten gram with an open interest of 13,890 lots.
The metal for delivery in August also shed Rs 19, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 16,630 per ten gram in 952 lots. Traders said fresh selling by traders in tandem with a weakening global trend mainly helped gold prices to trade lower.
Meanwhile, gold shed USD 2.20 to USD 1124.20 an ounce in the Asian region.
