PTI: Gold recovers on fresh buying, firm global cues

New Delhi, Apr 16 (PTI) Gold prices today rose marginally by Rs 15, snapping its three-day losing streak, in the bullion market here on fresh buying by stockists and jewellery fabricators.

Standard gold and ornaments recovered by Rs 15 each to Rs 17,025 per 10 gram and Rs 16,875 per 10 gram, respectively.

Sovereign closed flat at Rs 14,050 per piece of eight gram.

Silver, however, dropped by Rs 50 to Rs 28,050 per kg on poor industrial demand.

Marketmen said scattered buying by stockists and jewellery fabricators for the marriage season and reports of firming global trend mainly boosted gold prices.

Gold in global market, which normally sets the price trend on the domestic front, rose by USD 4 to USD 1,158.80 an ounce in New York last evening.
