NEW DELHI: Copper futures prices gained by Rs 1.20 or 0.34 per cent to Rs 349.85 per kg in futures trade on Tuesday, as traders enlarged their positions, influenced by a firming trend in the international markets.
Increased demand for the metal in the domestic markets, also supported the uptrend in copper futures.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in August gained Rs 1.20, or 0.34 per cent to Rs 349.85 per kg, with an open interest of 257 lots.
The metal for delivery in April contract traded slightly higher by 0.50, or 0.15 per cent to Rs 345.30 per kg in 20,620 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to firming trend at the London Metal Exchange, where it climbed $ 39 to $ 7,735 per tonne. - PTI
