MW: Gold Fields says gold production to rise in Ghana

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Gold Fields Ltd. (GFI 13.39, +0.13, +0.98%) said that it will increase production at its Damang gold mine in Ghana following the successful construction and commissioning of a new secondary crushing plant. Gold production at the mine is forecast to increase up to 240,000 ounces a year in the medium term, from a current level of around 200,000 ounces.
