RTTN: Indian Rupee Declines To 10-day Low Against Dollar
(RTTNews) - Monday, the Indian rupee fell against the US dollar on the back of a slide in domestic stock market.
The Indian market is trading extremely weak today, as world markets fell on worries that austerity measures in the eurozone could hamper the global economic recovery.
India's benchmark BSE Sensex is currently down nearly 432.08 points or 2.5% at 16,559.23 and the National Stock Exchange's S&P CNX Nifty is drifting lower by 121.60 points or 2.39% to 4,971.70.
The Indian rupee is currently trading at a 10-day low of 45.7650 against the dollar. If the Indian currency weakens further, it may likely target the 45.83 level. The dollar-rupee pair closed last week's trading at 45.2750.
