HM: Nikkei ends below 9,500 for 1st time in nearly 6 months

Japan's key Nikkei stock index plunged more than 3 percent Tuesday to end below 9,500 for the first time in nearly six months as a stronger yen against the euro and weak Asian stocks took their toll on the already fragile investor sentiment amid eurozone woes.
