NEW YORK, May 25 (UPI) -- June delivery crude oil prices tumbled overnight, falling below $68 per barrel with the bellwether commodity undermined by a weak euro.
The euro fell to $1.2225 from Monday's $1.238. Moreover, the euro has declined more than 15 percent against the dollar this year.
Overnight, June delivery crude oil lost $2.53 to $67.68 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, 21 percent off its high for the year.
Heating oil prices shed 0.0547 cents to $1.8446 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline blendstock prices lost 0.061 cents to $1.9098 per gallon. Henry Hub natural gas prices lost 0.025 cents to $3.992 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the national average price for unleaded regular gasoline dropped to $2.78 per gallon Tuesday from Monday's $2.793, AAA said.
