BS: Copper, nickel trade lower on weak global trend

Copper and nickel prices declined up to Rs 5 per kg in the wholesale local non-ferrous metals market today on fresh selling by stockists influenced by a weakening trend at London Metal Exchange.

Sentiments turned weak after copper fell in London on concerns over demand in China, the world’s largest consumer, after manufacturing expanded at a slower pace last month. Meanwhile, copper fell 2.6 percent to USD 6,760 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
