FRX: U.S. housing starts fall faster than expected
Forex Pros – U.S. housing starts fell at a faster rate than expected in May from the previous month, official data showed on Wednesday.
In a report, the Census Bureau said U.S. privately-owned housing starts during the month were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 593,000, down from the revised estimate for April, 659,000.
Economists had expected May's figure to come in at 650,000.
Following the release of the data, the U.S. dollar was up against the euro, with EUR/USD shedding 0.5% to reach 1.2267.
