LONDON (MarketWatch) -- The European Commission's economic sentiment indicator for the 16-nation euro zone rose to 98.7 in June from 98.4 in May, defying expectations for a decline to 98.0. The EC's industry index was unchanged at -6, while the services index rose to 4 from 3 in April. The consumer index rose a point to -17, while the retail trade index was unchanged at -6 and the construction index declined two points to -30.
