Forex Pros – The euro tumbled to hit a fresh lifetime low against the Swiss franc on Tuesday, amid tensions ahead of Thursday’s deadline for European banks to repay money to the European Central bank. EUR/CHF hit 1.3238, during European afternoon trade, a lifetime low; the pair subsequently consolidated at 1.3263, shedding 0.58%. The pair was likely to find support at 1.31 and resistance at 1.3328, Monday’s low. On Thursday, a euro zone refinancing program is due to expire and banks will have to repay EUR 442 billion borrowed one year ago as part of the ECB's efforts to boost liquidity. The euro was also down against the U.S. dollar, with EUR/USD shedding 0.65% to hit 1.2199. Earlier Tuesday, ECB Governing Council member Christian Noyer said the bank would do everything possible to ensure the expiry of the one-year funding program passed smoothly.
