MW: U.S. stock losses increase as sentiment drops

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks fell further on Tuesday after the Conference Board reported consumer sentiment took a hit in June. Already sharply off on worries about economic growth in China, stock indexes slumped more after the measure of consumer confidence declined to 52.9 in June, its lowest level since March. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA 9,913, -225.89, -2.23%) fell 227.63 points to 9,910.89. The S&P 500 Index (SPX 1,049, -25.37, -2.36%) was off 25.73 points to 1,048.84. The Nasdaq Composite (COMP 2,156, -65.01, -2.93%) declined 65.98 points to 2,154.67.
