AP: Gold price slightly increases

The price of the gold has been continuously fluctuating in the domestic market this week as well. The price has increased by some Rs. 180 per tola on Wednesday.

The price of the gold has increased from Rs. 35,950 per tola on Tuesday to stand at Rs. 36,130 per tola on Wednesday - gold was traded at around Rs. 36,250 per tola last week.

The price of the precious metal has decreased by some US$ 14 per ounce in the international market to stand at US$ 1,242 per ounce. On Tuesday, it was traded at US$ 1,240 per ounce which is decreased by US$ 16 from 1,246 per ounce on Monday.

The main cause of the decrease in the price of the gold is due to the economic crisis of Greece which has contributed in devaluating the US dollar, said Tej Ratna Shakya, president of Nepal Gold and Silver Delears’ Association (NGSDA).

He also said that due to the high demand of precious metal in the domestic market, the price of the gold has not decreased much as compare to the international market.
