LONDON (MarketWatch) -- European shares started with gains on Monday, extending last week's advance. Shares of aerospace group Zodiac (FR:ZC 39.79, +0.42, +1.05%) jumped 4.3% after rival Safran (FR:SAF 22.33, -0.40, -1.74%) , down 0.2%, said that a deal between the firms has "obvious logic." Also on the move, oil giant BP (UK:BP. 364.80, 0.00, 0.00%) climbed 5.4%. The U.K. FTSE 100 index rose 0.3% to 5,146.15, the German DAX index advanced 0.3% to 6,084.18 and the French CAC-40 index rose 0.5% to 3,570.93. |
