MW: Gold futures drop, giving back gains

By Cynthia Lin
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Gold futures fell on Wednesday, giving back some of the previous session's gains. Gold for August delivery dropped $3.50 to $1,210 an ounce in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. "Currently, strong price increases are not in sight," said analysts at Commerzbank AG in a note to clients. "Worries regarding a new aggravation of the European debt crisis seem to lose some importance for the time being."
