MW: Oil seesaws after supply report, weaker dollar

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Crude-oil prices fluctuated Wednesday, trying for sizeable gains on a combination of a weaker dollar and a larger-than-expected drop in inventories. Crude oil for August delivery added 6 cents to $77.18 a barrel. Oil kept losses immediately after a government report showed a surprise decline in inventories, but a weakening dollar made traders re-evaluate the day's losses.
