MW: Dollar slips versus yen after U.S. durables data
LONDON (MarketWatch) -- The U.S. dollar lost ground versus the Japanese yen (CUR_USDYEN 87.5200, -0.3700, -0.4210%) but was little changed versus the euro (CUR_EURUSD 1.2994, -0.0008, -0.0615%) Thursday after the Commerce Department reported that orders for U.S.-made durable goods fell 1% in June. Economists had forecast a 1% rise. The dollar was down 0.3% versus the yen to trade at 87.51 yen. The euro, meanwhile, was little changed on the day at $1.2994.
