FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- Crude-oil futures extended their losses Friday after data showed that private nonfarm payrolls expanded by 71,000 in July, lower than the 100,000 gain expected by economists surveyed by MarketWatch. The unemployment rate remained unchanged at 9.5%. Crude oil for September delivery fell $1.11 to $80.90 a barrel in electronic trading on Globex. The contract was trading down 29 cents before the data. In contrast, gold futures gained $1.70 to $1,201 an ounce.
