FRX: U.S. trade deficit widened more-than-expected in June
 
Forex Pros – The U.S. posted a larger-than-expected trade deficit in June, official data showed on Wednesday.

In a report, the Bureau of Economic Analysis said the U.S. trade deficit widened to a seasonally adjusted USD 49.9 billion in June, after rising USD 42.3 billion in May.

Economists had expected the trade deficit to expand to USD 42.5 billion in June.

The report said that the trade deficit increased USD 22.8 billion year-on-year.

Exports in June were down USD 2.0 billion while imports rose USD 5.9 billion month-on-month.

Following the release of the data, the U.S. dollar was up against the euro, with EUR/USD shedding 1.15% to hit 1.3025.
