RTTN: Pound Tumbles To New Multi-week Low Against Yen
(RTTNews) - U.K.'s sterling weakened against the currencies of the U.S. and Japan in early New York trading on Wednesday.
The pound that slumped to new-week lows of 133.0 against the yen in early trading continued to hover that level in New York morning.
The pound-yen pair is presently worth 133.12 and the next likely support level is seen at 131.20. The pair closed yesterday's deals at 135.48.
The British sterling also fell to a 12-day low of 1.5667 against the US dollar before moving in a holding pattern around 9:15 am ET.
The cable that was worth 1.5855 at Tuesday's close is currently quoted at 1.5685. If the pound declines further, 1.5540 is seen as the next likely support level.
