FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- Crude-oil futures fell sharply on Thursday, extending their losses from the previous session, as economic worries continued to dominate trading and the U.S. dollar strengthened against major rivals. Crude oil for September delivery dropped $1.09 to $76.93 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
