NEW DELHI: Silver prices traded higher by Rs 91 or 0.31 per cent to Rs 29,130 a kg in futures market on Monday on pick up in demand in spot markets amid firming global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, silver for September-month rose Rs 91 or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 29,130 a kg, with an open interest of 20,931 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in December moved up by Rs 81 or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 29,275 a kg, with an open interest of 3,361 lots.
Market analysts said pick up in demand in the spot market amid firming global trend mainly led to a rise in silver prices at futures market. Meanwhile, silver gained 0.44 per cent to $18.22 an ounce in Asian region. — PTI
