BS: Base metals rise on firm global cues

Led by nickel, select base metals prices moved up at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to good buying by industrial users amidst firming trend in London Metal Exchange (LME).

Meanwhile, brass sheet cutting eased on poor buying support.

Nickel rose by Rs 10 per kilo to Rs 1,120 from last weekend's closing level of Rs 1,110 and tin firmed up by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 1,105, as against Rs 1,100 previously.

Copper cable scrap, copper wire bar and zinc inched up by a rupee per kilo each to Rs 373, Rs 401, and Rs 121, respectively.

However, brass sheet cutting softened by a rupee per kilo to Rs 262 from Rs 263.
