RTTN: US Dollar Steady Ahead Of July PPI, Housing Starts Data
(RTTNews) - The Commerce Department will release its report on housing starts and building permits for July at 8.30 AM ET. Economists expect that housing starts increased to 555,000 from the 549,000 reported for the previous month.
At the same time, the Labor Departmentwill release its report on producer price index for July. Economists expect the headline index to rise by 0.2% and the core producer price index to show 0.1% growth in July.
Ahead of the data, the US dollar held steady against its major rivals. The greenback is currently quoted at 1.2864 against the euro, 1.0431 versus the Swiss franc, 85.29 against the yen and 1.5634 against the pound.
